The brief for this party was to create a fun, relaxed party to celebrate the client’s 50th Birthday. The client had also just finished renovating her home in Notting Hill, so was keen to host the party there for her closest friends. Having visited the client’s home, Honey advised the client on guest numbers, designed a bespoke reception menu and decided that in order to maximum space at the house, the garden ought to be incorporated for the party.
Honey instructed a marquee company to build a bespoke structure in the garden, which was attached to the basement reception room, so effectively a new room was created.
Our team of stylists then conceived a plan for dressing the downstairs of the house and marquee, so that the two areas blended perfectly. The client was very design conscious so our stylists worked closely with her to ensure that her personal style was reflected in the colour scheme and dressing of the space. A colour palette of taupe, orange and beige was agreed, which was very in keeping with her home’s existing décor.
As the client was keen for the party to be very informal, Honey’s team installed “lounge” style seating into the marquee in the form of low daybeds, cushions and bolsters. Cube seats were also dotted around the marquee as well as low mirrored tables. The edges of the marquee were softened with fringing, which was also used to dress the mirrored tables.
A DJ area was created just inside the sliding doors of the house and light curtains installed for the dance floor. Accents of colour were added through globe bowls filled with orange roses, as well as organza, light curtains and silk flowers. Kentia palms, uplights and tea lights, gave the marquee a warm and relaxing ambience. An exterior balcony was also transformed into a candle lit Japanese garden, which looked stunning candle lit.
Guests enjoyed Fusion style canapés and bowl food, followed by elegant pudding canapés later on. Drinks were Peach Bellinis, Mojitos and a delicious soft drink cocktail.
